www.pib.gov.inwww.mea.gov.inwww.mha.gov.in

What reference books are important for UPSC preparation?

How to choose Optional for UPSC?

There are many optional such as Political Science, Sociology, Geography, History, Anthropology, Economics, Psychology, Philosophy etc. which students tend to opt for their UPSC Exam. However, choosing an optional should be based on your interest, field of study and the kind of questions asked in that subject. For this, one should go through the syllabus and previous year papers and take right guidance before finalising their optional. Call to book an appointment with our faculty members because our optional can make or break your attempt!

From where should I cover Current Affairs?

Newspapers are the best source for current affairs. In addition to that, magazines like Yojana, Kurukshetra, Down to Earth provide quality content. Regularly following our Current Affairs section, i.e. www.currentaffairs.chetanbharat.com will be sufficient for your UPSC preparation.

How long does it take to cover the entire syllabus for UPSC?

It takes about 9-11 months to cover the entire syllabus. However, we strongly recommend that beginners should ideally prepare in three stages- Stage 1: Foundation Stage (5-6 months) ; Stage 2: Comprehensive Coverage Stage (8-9 months) ; Stage 3: Consolidation & Testing Stage (3-4 months) before attempting this exam.

Often it has been seen that questions have come directly from NCERTs from 6th to 12th. UPSC requires an aspirant to have basic knowledge about everything, and not be a pro in all areas. And, NCERTs provide the basic understanding of all the topics of national as well as international level. However, NCERTs are important, but not sufficient.
